Apollo Justice ( •̀ - •́ )

Apollo Justice is the protagonist of the fourth Ace Attorney game, and he's also one of my favorite characters in the series!

I think it would've been very easy to make Apollo nothing more than Phoenix II, but instead he stands as his own character far better than I ever expected him to. While he carries some of that same snark as Phoenix, Apollo often seems more tired than judgemental. Apollo is often anxious and awkward, and yet in the most dire moments, he's bold and confident. He's sentimental, openly crying out of concern for both Trucy and Vera on different occasions.

Though fans joke about his seven tragic backstories, his sheer inability to catch a fucking break only further endears him to me. This man can not go one game without losing someone important to him, and every new tragedy that befalls him has me cackling behind the screen and rubbing my hands together like a fruit fly.

Here's to hoping that AA7 will be kinder to Apollo. Though, of course, I will be just as happy if Capcom puts him in the meat grinder again.
